Market on Randolph! April 8, 2012 Mod Construction, Market Sports Bar on Randolph. I will never forget Market!!! What great decor!! What a hostile bar!. I will never forget last night, taking my girlfriend there with my two friends, ordering one beer, and being assaulted by the bouncer and his crony. We turned off a television next to our table because it was bothering everyone there, shining brightly in our faces. The place was dead anyways. The bouncer and an unidentified crony then approached after about 5 minutes. The giant man turned to my handicapped friend, placed his hand on his shoulder, and said, "You need to come back here with me," as he motioned to a metal door at the rear of the bar. We objected. He accused us of drug possession. What the connection is between turning off a television and drug possession still escapes me. Why the bouncer wanted to take my one friend into a back room, still is beyond me. The crass disregard for social norms, the way we were treated as a group and the way they spoke to my girlfriend, culminate to make last night, hands down the worst bar experience I have ever been involved with anywhere. I sincerely hope this poorly placed bar runs head first into the ground. I wish I could some how participate more actively in Market's demise, and I will ruminate passionately on the subject, although based on last night's events, I can't imagine it will need much help.
