Called them to drive me 7.5 miles to Harris Corporation. I asked him to wait ~5 minutes, at $0.50/min. The driver was wearing a ratty white T-shirt and jeans with a large brown stain down the right leg. His pregnant girlfriend was in the car. The cab was dirty, with cigarette burns and debris all over. The steering wheel had black tape all over it, as if it had been in an accident and the air bag had deployed. Me: "Do you take credit cards? Him: "No, the machine is broken." Me: "Okay, but we'll have to stop by an ATM." We drove to an ATM and continued to Harris. It was $29.10. I gave him $40, and asked for $5 back. Him: "I don't have change." Me: "Okay. What am I supposed to do about that?" Him: "You could just give me the $40." Me: "No. The fare is $29.10, and I'm only asking for $5 back." Him: "I told you. I don't have change. You can just give me the $40." Me: "That's not my problem. It's not my responsibility to provide you with the exact fare. It's your responsibility to make change, especially when you won't take credit cards." Him: "I'll just take this, and you can follow me to the gas station for change." Me: "You're kidding me? I have other things to do other than following you around because you couldn't bring enough cash to give change, and I am not letting you keep my $40. I'll give you $29.10, and that is all you're getting." Him: "I have to get change." Me: "Fine. Give me my $40, then we'll go get change." He still had the meter on.
