I'm writing the following review as I sold a property that was managed by AMS Management Services, based out of Clive, IA. Once I sold my investment, I was advised by my realtor that AMS charges a ridiculous fee of $150 to sign and notarize a HOA Affidavit Form to show that a homeowner is current or outstanding on HOA Fees. For AMS to sign and notarize this form only took roughly 2 minutes or less, from what I was instructed by my realtor. I was already paying AMS a monthly fee towards their monthly salary which was much more than the $150 that they are charging to sign and notarize the HOA Affidavit form. They should be completing this service for free since each homeowner is paying a fee each month towards AMS monthly salary and office clerical work. AMS is charging homeowners a monthly fee towards their yearly salary but then turns around and expects you to hand over an additional outrageous fee of $150 to complete the HOA Affidavit form. I was instructed by my realtor that AMS will only except cash and not debit/credit cards......and the money that is collected from this process of signing the HOA Affidavit form does not get turned over to the HOA Association. I would recommend that homeowners questions this lavish fee that AMS is charging homeowners. I'm glad that I have moved out of a property managed by AMS and out of state.
