South Coast Literacy Council is an all volunteer, on-profit organization that offers FREE English classes for adults. South Coast Literacy Council (SCLC) is an all volunteer educational and charitable non-profit organization serving south Orange County, California. Our principle mission is to assist adults to acquire the English language skills needed for daily living; to take advantage of employment opportunities; and to integrate fully into society. Classes are held in several locations listed on our website, southcoastliteracy.com. For information about volunteering with SCLC, or making a donation to SCLC, go to the Council's website. Our organization began in 1970 and has trained hundreds of volunteer tutors and tutored thousands of adult students in the English language.
