As an avid viewer of HG channel "Holmes on Homes" & "Holmes Inspection", I was very wary of hiring a contractor to finish my basement. I spent lots of time researching before I decided on JH Basement. I could not find anybody with anything bad to say about JH in the last 20+ years. I am a businessman myself & I know you do not win all those BBB awards if you do shoddy work. I signed the contract to have them add 2 bedrooms,2 bathrooms & a large entertainment room. Not only were they the lowest price but they quoted the shortest finish time 6 weeks. Everything went very smoothly. If I had any questions or concerns Joe would get back to me right away and my basement turned out better than I could imagined. It flows with the rest of the house, which is exactly what I wanted. We now spend more time in the basement than in the rest of the house. I would (and have) recommend JH Basement to anyone.

My husband and I bought our home last year and it needed a lot of work. Being new to the area we weren't sure where to start. Our neighbor recently had her basement finished and could not stop talking about JH Basement Finish Company and the amazing job they did. After seeing the work they did for my her, I decided to call them. Although complete home remodel is not what they typically do, Joe agreed to come out and give us an estimate. Joe was great! He walked our house with us, discussed with us our ideas, and even offered some suggestions. Being young newlyweds the idea of spending $53,000 was scary. I expressed to Joe my concern and he told us not to look at it like we were spending that money but rather that we were investing that money into our home. We decided to hire JH Basement and they began our job a few weeks later. We were so impressed with everyone that came out to our home. All of Joes subcontractors were not only kind, courteous and professional, but they all did amazing work! Our job included carpet and tile tear out, removal of old cabinetry, vaulting our kitchen ceiling, moving bedroom walls, removal of popcorn ceilings, texture and paint throughout, new bathtubs, toilets and cabinetry, granite installed in the kitchen, bathrooms, and on our window sills, and new carpet and tile flooring throughout our home. Everyone did such an incredible job! My husband and I highly recommend JH Basement Finish!

They also had great reviews, and I really liked the fact that they're a family business. Joe and his sons were great to work with! They were all very professional and talented! Joe was great at communicating the schedule with me and made himself available for all my questions through the process. They did a beautiful job! For a long time my husband and I wanted to finish our basement but didn't want to hire anyone we weren't absolutely sure of. We did so much research and read so many reviews and decided to call JH Basement for an estimate. I had a very clear idea of how I wanted our basement finished and showed Joe exactly what I wanted. He was great! He listened to everything we wanted and that night we signed the contract! Not only was Joe great to work with, all his contractors were great as well! My wife and I discussed finishing our basement for a few years but it always ended up on the back burner. That had to change at beginning of this year. My father became ill and we needed to move him into our home to care for him. It became clear rather quickly that we needed to finish our basement to accommodate this change. We called several companies to get estimates and JH Basement was among them. The bids we got all came in pretty close to each other but we ultimately decided to hire Joe. When he came to our home he listened to our concern of urgency with my father moving in. He gave us great insight on how to best utilize our space with someone needing care. His professionalism, knowledge, and empathy for our situation won our business. After signing the contract, Joe was great at communicating with us where we were at in the process, and what contractors to expect. There was not a single contractor that came to our home that portrayed anything less than the professionalism that Joe had on day one! I was amazed that Joe and his team finished our job sooner than the original completion date! I was able to get my father settled in sooner than we expected and we could not have done that without Joe and his team! We are so appreciative of all the work they did and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their basement finished!

I called JH Basement to get an estimate. They were pleasant on the phone, answered all my questions and set up an appt (very professional). Joe showed up on time with a lovely packet that explained everything about their company. He took measurements, showed me much of the work that they had done, asked me what I envisioned and then told me what was and wasn't possible due to code restrictions. It was a very pleasant and informative meeting. He arranged a time on Friday to come back out and drop of the proposal. To our surprise when he came back, he had done a computer drawing of our basement taking into account our wants and his experience. He also presented us with a Proposal, references and a coupon for optional upgrade. He again was on time, pleasant and extremely professional. Unfortunately, we found out that my job was not secure and we had to hold off on the basement. I called Joe and he said - "We will be here when you are ready and guarantee our price. " What a nice company.

I am a little new to this review process but now that more and more people are looking up reviews before deciding on a contractor, I did think it was important. No one likes home construction, people in and out of your house and the perceived mess there is going to be. JH Basement Finish put a lockbox on my door with a key in it and told me that I never had to be home or work around their schedule. They kept the house clean, were polite and answered the phone every time I called. That doesn t always happen with a company and it did every time with them. Joe knows what he is doing and gets it done. I noticed on the website a Christian emblem and by Joe s actions I could tell they were a Christian company. They were honest, trustworthy and made the whole process less daunting. Contractors have a bad reputation to some but if you are looking for an honest deal, a handshake you can trust - this is the contractor.

I figured the least I could do is write a review after driving Joe crazy for the last two months! I knew having my basement finished wouldn't be the easiest process, given that I am an extremely picky person, but I needed the job done. As the construction progressed I wasn't thrilled with what I was seeing. I didn't like the placement of a few walls because I felt like it broke up the space to much, and I didn't like where the vanity was put in the bathroom. I called Joe and he agreed to make the changes even though he did exactly as the contract laid out. I just wasn't happy and wasn't going to move forward until everything was how I liked. When it came to the bathroom I explained to Joe the exact fixtures I wanted and he agreed to let me pick them up and refund me to ensure it was exactly what I wanted. I was very happy that I could do that so I wouldn't have to rely on him to get the right ones. Before I hired Joe, I was very adamant on using one of my own contractors. Joe really advised me against doing that because of the problems it could cause, but that was a deal breaker for me if he didn't agree. After a lot of warning against the idea, he agreed to allow me to do this. Unfortunately it turned out as he warned! There were so many scheduling issues, it slowed Joe's contractors down, and slowed our project down by several weeks! Overall, Joe's company did a great job and it turned out exactly as I hoped! I would highly recommend!

I’ve called several companies to try and get an estimate to finish my basement but no one was calling us back! I Called JH Basement and left a message and heard back the same day. Joe was on time for the estimate and came back out a week later with a very professional proposal. We hired Joe and are excited to start our project after the first of the year! I will update my review after the job is finished!
