I am writing a review as a person NOT tattooed by Liberated Tattoo and/or Magic Mikey but as the spouse of someone who was. He was shocked and appalled at the QUALITY of work done. My husband's tattoo is simplistic lettering done on both sides of the lower calf on his left leg. The tattoo itself is gouged in spots; lopsided, blurry and NONE of the letters are competently formed or written. Some of the lines are thicker at certain junctions than others and the flow is NON-EXISTANT. I think performing work of this ilk and accepting payment for such is nothing short of negligent. I have pictures of the work done and will be MORE than happy to share them with anyone who necessitates such so as to avoid any libelous claims or malfeasance on my part. I would under NO circumstances recommend that you make a conscious decision to visit Liberated Tattoo in Antioch, IL and have work done by Magic Mikey. He may have a knack for making customers feel at home but a warm, fuzzy feeling lasts momentarily and an atrocious tattoo lasts FOREVER; unless you pay another QUALIFIED shop to fix the work you are guaranteed to come up short. Thank you kindly for taking the time to read this review and to be an active participant in your self-modification; beauty enrichment and/or pain fulfillment. Tattooing is an art creating a relationship that lasts FOREVER between the artist and the canvas; don’t irreparably damage your canvas.

I have to say that the review written by that women was very well written but has some flaws in it. I have been tattooed by several artists over the years, mikey was my last and only artist to date. I will go no where else now. His professionalism is the highest. All work is approved by the customer so if your husbands tattoo is lopsided or crooked then it may be his fault. It sounds like a cursive lettering and if it is off in anyway., before you go slandering a good business man maybe you should consult him for the FREE touch up. When you say gouged, Well I have over 1 dozen tats from mike and he has one of the lightest hands I have ever felt, It sounds more like your husbands tattoo was not taken care of properly. Sounds like he allowed it to scab and scabbing will cause scarring. Not the artists fault. People who are ignorant or do not follow the instructions will be the first to blame an artist when it doesn't heal properly. If you didnt take the free touch up and posted this out of ignorance you should take it down because I am sure that it has nothing to do with the work mike did on you. I would recommend anyone to mikey, he has even tattooed my kids....never seen a bad one yet....

You liar, you pathetic P.O.S. You are a lying piece of scum. PPGLIFER is Mike Cannella the owner of Liberated Tattoo. You suck and you are a liar...the funniest part of you false response is your own kid hates you and would never let you tattoo him...he told me in person. The reason I know that Mike himself wrote this is because he responded to another of his clients complaints under the same name "PPGLIFER". And "PPGLIFER" is short for "power para gliding lifer". Mike just admit it ....you suck...your shop smells like cigarettes and farts and wont be open very much longer. I know he will take down his response so I am going to copy and paste it under this paragraph so you all can see what a piece of garbage this guy really is. His old shop never ripped him off , they were just protecting their interests, the other shops around are very good despite his lies and constant berating.
