This past weekend my family camped at J P Coleman State Park. After 2 days of camp fare, we decided to eat a late lunch/early dinner on Sunday on our way back to camp from attending a Civil War reenactment. Bar-b-que sounding good so stopped in at R & B's. After quizzing the waitress on how the food was prepared (we are foodies that live in Nashville), we ordered our lunch. We were not disappointed. House made sauce and slaw, pork that is smoked right on site and fresh sweet tea, and a unique prep of the baked beans made a for a great lunch. We noticed the very full and very inexpensive breakfast menu and decided to hit R & B's on the way back home on Monday. Though I knew the coffee would be typical (no local roast here), we came back in ready for another home cooked meal. Coming from a family of traditional all from scratch foods which is how I still cook we were thrilled with the from scratch biscuits and gravy, the huge helpings of meat and my husband's omelette was fantastic! These biscuits could give my mother's a run for their money. This is definitely worth the time to stop by. Tell them we said hi!
