In 2010 my mother-in-law was in need of an assisted living. The family chose to place her at Westhaven. These decisions are never easy as you have to trust strangers to the care of your loved one. For someone who worked in the nursing home industry for over 30 years, this was not easy for me or the family. We never regretted the decision to choose Westhaven.The staff did an excellent job caring for her and kept us informed of any changes with her health condition. She enjoyed living there. The staff treated her with dignity and respect and loved her as their own mother. Amy Doolittle sang with her very morning. There is strong praise for the staff, especially Nicole Behnke and Laura Voeltz, as they were so attentive to her needs in the days before her death. The dietary staff always had food and coffee for the family during those long night vigils with Zippy. Our family visited with other residents during our time there and all were pleased with their stay at Westhaven. I am sorry to hear the words from a disgruntled employee. Our family has only high praise for this facilty. It is never easy to work in the healthcare field-we are grateful for the good staff at Westhaven! Thank you! Judy Abel
