Design/Build Cabinetmaking is a diminishing field. Long before my time most cabinetmakers were of this ilk. These days, all kinds of fabricators, assemblers and kitchen cabinet brokers call themselves cabinetmakers. A true Design/Build Cabinetmaker starts with a custom design achieved through consultation and then builds that project from scratch out of raw materials such as lumber, sheet goods and veneer, not from catalogs.
