- Advising on, negotiating, and preparing commercial agreements, including for development, financing, investment, acquisition, employment, licensing, re-selling, and services agreements.
- Advising on issues relating to marketing, including concerning trademark and trade-dress.
- Advising on and managing intellectual property issues, including the registration and maintenance of trademarks.
- Advising on, negotiating, and managing outside counsel with regard to patent litigation matters. Communicating with customers and other third parties regarding pending litigation and managing indemnity claims.
- Managing disputes and litigation, including those involving contractual disputes, employee claims, and consumer complaints.
- Advising on, negotiating, and preparing agreements for corporate transactions.
Roy has also successfully represented clients in arbitrations, mediations, various governmental proceedings, and in state and Federal courts. Roy's legal career started at a family law firm. Even as Roy expanded to other areas of practice, family law continued being a part of his practice throughout his career. Roy primarily practices in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, and serves as a settlement judge pro tem for the Santa Clara Superior Court.
Roy currently limits his practice to transactional work for businesses, including contracts, litigation management and trademark, and family law.
