A Cut Above The Rest Hardwood Floors

It’s hard to pick a place to begin… there is no doubt anyone and everyone should steer clear of this poorly run operation. I was quoted a good price on the refinish of a poor condition pre finished hardwood floor – and he knew what he was getting in to, or at least I was told so. I was quoted $2200 and a 3-4 day completion time. Shane said the full amount would be due upon completion. Within 2 days Shane was missing time and making very little progress on the floor. I asked for one additional repair of approximately 20 sq ft of flooring, which I gladly cut the check for and was told would add a day…. But it was more like 4. Over the next two weeks I was asked for 2 more checks to cover work that was clearly needed when the bid was offered. Shane would work for a few hours a day, sporadically despite the promises to show up early and get the floor done quickly. Once the final coats were finished, he had 3 stairs to fix and some minor touch up…. Again quoted 1 day of work and was promised he would be there the next day to finish up. He asked for payment on the floor which I hesitantly wrote, but he promised to finish it up the next day. He then spent half of two days working on 3 stairs, and has since not shown up this entire week. We are now 1 month past the start date and the floor is not finished. He told me and I quote “I have two other jobs now which put you guys in the back of the line” Seriously?? After numerous delays, his other jobs are more important.
