Bonnie Michelle Smith is on the July 31st Ballot for Houston County Superior Court Judge. She is a general practice attorney. Bonnie "Michelle" Smith, or Michelle Smith- as she goes by, is excited to be running for Superior Court Judge of Houston County. Michelle is a native of Houston County, having graduated from Northside High School, and attending Northside Junior High School, Russell Elementary School, and Shirley Hills Elementary. She has a B.A. in Music from Agnes Scott College, in Decatur, Georgia, and completed her post graduate musical studies at the American Music and Dramatic Academy in New York, New York. Michelle completed her legal education at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing, Michigan. Michelle is a member of the United States Supreme Court, Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, United States Court of Federal Claims, 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, United States District Court Middle District of Georgia, Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals. When asked how a musician became an attorney, Michelle often laughs and says, "you mean you have never seen any tap dancing or singing in a courtroom?" Michelle is the oldest of two children, and the first person in her extended family of over 100 plus on her mother's and father's side to ever become an attorney. Michelle takes her commitment to the law seriously, and does not believe in making any promises she cannot keep.
