I have been staying at the (now) Cherokee Inn before Sam even bought the place about 6years ago and I know Sam and Dhruti have worked hard to improve the place every year after year. The best part I like are the clean rooms and the beds…the best. The new breakfast idea is also very good it takes me not even 5-6 min to make myself some Jimmy Dean and egg sandwich with cheese. And I have been coming on this route for almost 11 years and I know he has the best beds and breakfast if not the world then at least on my route. Thank you Sam. Dave Werner Bliz-Mize/Ryder Trucking

Been staying at Super 8 Motel now The CHEROKEE INN for about 3 and half years now. I say it was the loss of the super8 people. Because Sam and Dhruti have kept this motel very good a lot better then so many other super8 I stayed at. I love their beds and am not a breakfast guy at all but he has very good coffee which I love. But anyone who needs a good night rest and a nice home style breakfast then this is the only place to stay I mean bacon, eggs, jimmy dean sausages, hash browns cereals oat meal…etc. can’t beat that. I work for a food distributor out of Chicago ILL and I have the route of US HWY 20/59 into Worthington MN then south to HWY 71/3 to I-35/I-80 back to home. I ran into Sam’s motel over a year ago, (it is a loss for the Wyndham Hotel) and I used to stay in Fort Dodge/Strom Lake or in Worthington MN or Spencer, IA and I will never stay anywhere but at the Cherokee Inn. Why not a great owner who genuinely cares not just for a few customers but all, my company has a daily per-diem for motel of $100 and tax but I still choose to stay at the Cherokee Inn because when I get-up in the morning I DO NOT HAVE any back pain because of his best mattress in the world (and I have a memory foam at home which I paid over $2,500.). I love the breakfast because I know it is a good quality (I work in the food business) and I can make it when I am ready to eat, not made 3-4 hours ago by someone. Team Spongers travels from Florida to Iowa every summer for Ragbrai. We stayed here this past summer for the second time in the past 3 years and again had a most wonderful experience. The owner is pleasant and friendly. The rooms are spacious and super clean. The breakfast in the morning is great. Conveniently located next to a supermarket and restaurants. We have not found much better in Iowa. We will definitley stay here again next time we are in Iowa and the Ragbrai route is close by.

Team Spongers travels from Florida to Iowa every summer for Ragbrai. We stayed here this past summer for the second time in the past 3 years and again had a most wonderful experience.
