I am the owner of a big box fitness center that specializes in physical therapy, sports performance and fitness. In 2014, I came up with an invention to help hide and manage the unsightly power cords as well as protect the outlets from tiny children’s wandering hands. That year, I hired a paid a very prominent prototype firm $13,000 to design and build my invention which consisted of two plastic pieces that hinged together to form a “box”. 1 ½ years later I still did not have a prototype that worked to the point where I had confidence going into production with the product design. At this point Dirt Cheap Prototypes was recommended. After several discussions I engaged DCP and they developed two prototypes in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost, where the 2nd worked very well and gave me confidence to go into mass production on my product. I then engaged DCP to manage the manufacturing of my product and again, was very pleased with the price, quality and service. After I received my inventory, DCP has still been available for conversations on launching my product and increasing sales, despite no longer being in a contracted service. While the development of my product was much more involved with regard to both time and cost, having worked with two prominent product development firms that DCP’s pricing, quality and services, were all much better.
