In 1961, Ross Anthony Scianna's mother, Helen Scianna Gianfrancesco, realized her dream of operating her own restaurant when she opened Antone's Restaurant and Confetti Lounge on Market Street in Youngstown. Then just 10 years old, Scianna worked all manner of jobs at the restaurant, including dishwasher, but it was developing the recipes with his mother that he developed a passion for food.
