DLA Piper Advises Businesses in Utilities and Transportation Sectors DLA Piper was formed in 2005 from the merger of three leading business law firms and provides legal services to a variety of businesses across the globe. With offices in New York, San Francisco, Chicago [if this is just supposed to focus on US cities, this is fine – otherwise we should put in some international ones too], and other major cities worldwide the firm advises a variety of companies and remains dedicated to meeting the unique regional and cultural needs of every client. Over the years DLA Piper has acquired considerable experience in legal areas that include antitrust, real estate, litigation, technology and media, and white-collar defense, among many others. [why these?] DLA Piper’s Energy and Water sector offers clients in-depth local coverage and industry-specific knowledge. The lawyers in this practice work with clients from all major energy areas ranging from oil and gas to renewable fuels and alternative energy. The firm regularly works with a variety of energy professionals tohelp them navigate legal proceedings such as financing and permitting matters, planning, development and regulatory issues. DLA Piper leverages its network of more than 200 energy lawyers located in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific region to offer highly targeted legal services that consider all aspects of regional law and culture. DLA Piper’s Transportation group helps businesses in the transportation field streamline the legal process and maximize profits. The firm divides this sector into areas that include air, road, rail and sea. This focused approach enables the firm to deliver the most relevant legal services to each client. (Why is finance in a paragraph about transportation?)In addition to specific finance products, such as Islamic Finance and tax leasing, DLA Piper advises New York and Wall Street clients in areas such as capital markets, government relations, mergers and acquisitions.
