A friend of mine lost her purse that had everything – her phone, wallet, keys, and cards. She had to get home to her kids ( whom she had left with a sitter) and needed access to the car. I called Lock & Key Store and explained the situation. They sent a technician to the location in quick time. I’d called them around 10 pm and they got there by 10:25 pm. I thought it would take forever since I knew how modern cars were – you needed to not just cut but also program the keys. The technician from Lock & Key Store, James I think, really knew his stuff. He had this fully equipped workshop in his van that allowed him to make a key onsite. Very reasonably priced too (it would have cost twice the time and money at the dealership). Great service! Pricing was fair and their website was very helpful in helping me determine what we needed. I made sure to call around different locksmiths, even tried service magic, when we decided we needed a new cylinder for our lock. They were able to come within an hour of me calling. Leave it to me to be a drunkass and lose my keys one month into moving into my new apartment after having lived in doorman buildings with extra keys for the past 8 years... Finally decided I needed to get a new lock installed, and called this place on a late Saturday afternoon. When I told him I'd like him to come "as soon as possible" he said he would be able to come the next morning since I'm on the UWS...fine with me. About an hour and a half later he called again saying that he had a recommendation for a place closer to me that could come right away if I would like, since it sounded "urgent". called Lock & Key Store because my lock had become somewhat corroded... Keys were not fitting in easily. A receptionist answered the phone and promised a call back from the locksmith within a few minutes. Sure enough, 2 minutes later Paul was calling me and after explaining the issue, he suggested I save myself some money and just spray with wd40 and to call him back if that didn't work, he could have someone out by the end of the day. I'm completely embarrassed I didn't think of that myself, but I tried it and it worked like a charm. So, I have no in -person experience with them, but the honesty and promptness was greatly appreciated. This will be my go-to locksmith the next time I have a legitimate issue ;)

I found myself locked out of my apartment and just needed to get back in since my keys and spare were BOTH inside. My friends all quickly jumped in with horror stories about how much they had to pay when this happened to them, but after a little yelping, I came upon Lock & Key Store. Kobbi called me back that morning and despite it being the friday before Labor Day, said that he would stop by on his way out of town. While waiting for Jay I'd run into a neighbor who'd told me his sob story about how this had just happened to him and he had to pay something like $120, but even though my door had some crazy security bar on it, Kobbi managed to get it open and for only $50! I'm so grateful - it was quick and painless and I'd recommend them to anyone who finds themselves locked out. Lifesaver.
