Helping clients heal a troubled relationship is normally not a quick, nor easy task. You may be asking yourself if it is even worth it? What if we fal In the couples work we do its not about fixing as much as it is about getting in touch with each other’s feelings, strengthening empathy for one another, communicating authentically—from your heart without fear of reprisal. There is no right or wrong when you speak from your heart. And in counseling we return, eventually, to that enthusiastic place where you can re-discover your interest in each other, your shared passions, the delight you used to feel when close and you felt your loved one interested in you. You can feel that again. It’s about re-storing “beginner’s mind.” It comes with the type of work we do in therapy. It’s safe, its researched and tested, and most couples come through to the other side of our work much healthier, open, and more bonded to their significant other.
