Five stars! These guys did an amazing job. Two other locksmiths I’d hired told me the lock had to be thrown away and replaced with a new one, but Safe & Key Shop salvaged it and restored it to normal operation. It was a Schlage Primus high security lock and a break-in attempt had left the lock worse for wear. Thanks guys! I went searching for a new locksmith for the building I manage in Greenpoint after the famous local shop pissed me off one too many times. Henrry was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. Ok, just adding to the mountain of good reviews here... The lock on the door to my apartment was busted. So I tried to save some pennies by posting an ad on Craig's list a method that has worked really well for me to hire my cleaning lady and various handymen for simple jobs. Anyway, after sorting through like 50 replies to the ad, which quoted me prices varying form $100 to $300, I chose some guy who said that he installs locks in hotels for a living for $100 who of course turned out to not know what he was doing. He did put in a good effort, staying wiht the job for like 5 hours! But the door knob was basically hanging off the door the next day after using it twice. Anyway, a week later after calling a bunch of legit locksmiths who wanted $80 to even look at the lock, and who wouldn't commit to a firm price, I called Safe & Key Shop who fixed the mess that was made for $80 in like a half hour.

Super nice guy arrive from Safe & Key Shop , gets the job done fast, responds to emails quickly, and his rates really can't be beat. He explains everything he's doing, so you know what you're paying for. Def shoot him an email if you need a lock installed, and keep his phone # in your contacts for emergencies at any time 24 Hours a Day!

So, I have a habit of losing things. I'm on my 4th cell phone in the last 6 months. Recently, I had to call Safe & Key Shop to return to my apt and repair a lock that I had stripped at 4am after losing my keys. Not only did he offer me a ""repeat customer discount"" of about 15%, but he also offerred to write the receipt to include the first repair of our dead bolt which our landlord had ridiculously refused to reimburse despite multiple emails and phone calls detailing the security concerns. Anyway, this Safe & Key Shop is incredible and I rarely give out 5 stars on this site, but he totally deserves it.

Called Safe & Key Shop to have my deadbolt changed. 15 minutes later, Mike, a friendly, honest, and helpful guy arrived at my door. Mike explained that my door wasn't in great shape, and actually convinced me to buy a cheaper lock than the one I originally requested. 5 minutes later, the new lock was installed. If you've ever dealt with other locksmiths, you may have felt pressured to buy something you didn't need. That won't happen with these guys.
