The locks were damaged to a point where they didn’t work anymore. Clearly, the attempt at a break-in had failed and I was glad the locks had held up. But now I needed new ones, for I knew they could not withstand a second attempt. Nearly all the locksmiths I knew were unavailable at 10 pm. Not a great fan of locksmiths! When you’ve been tricked into buying unwanted stuff, charged $250 for opening up a locked car or reduced to waiting for hours for the person to get there, I’m sure you’d share the same feelings I used to! But General Locksmith Store does have a way with its customers! When I was locked out of my home and I’d exhausted all my other options, a friend passed on their number 516-283-5809 to me. I called them up, a small part of me hoping that these guys would be a little different – and they were! I barely waited ten minutes when a locksmith reached my location and sorted out my issue! They charged me $55 and were off! Wow! What’s my opinion of locksmiths now? Still not a great fan unless it’s someone from General Locksmith Store! General Locksmith Store were so great with my finicky front door lock. Paul was on the phone for at least 30 min asking me questions and getting me to try a bunch of different things in order to avoid a service call. Mike was very prompt, efficient, and courteous. We recently moved and wanted to re-key our new place. Edwardo was very responsive on the phone; Mike came as scheduled; and everything went very smoothly. Mike was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous, and explained everything he was doing (including improving on the original installations). I chose General Locksmith Store based online reviews. I needed my locks re-keyed on my new house. I called this evening at about 6:00 pm, and by 7:45 the job had been completed. James called back within a few minutes, and Mike came over within about 45 minutes of my call. I had 4 knobs and 3 deadbolts re-keyed, and the total cost was less than I was expecting when I called. The woman who answered the phone was friendly and efficient. James was friendly when he called to inquire about my needs, and Mike, who came to my home, was professional and friendly as well. If I were to need their service again, I would definitely give them a call.

I usually don't write reviews but I guess I'l start now. I happened to lock myself out of my condo without my keys in my bag. I called General Locksmith Store after reading good reviews and by all means, they quoted me a set price and told me the driver would show up within 40 minutes. Sure enough they showed up (okay 45 minutes) and I got in to my place in 10 minutes. Will Definitely recommend.

Called General Locksmith Store to have my deadbolt changed. 15 minutes later, Mike, a friendly, honest, and helpful guy arrived at my door. Mike explained that my door wasn't in great shape, and actually convinced me to buy a cheaper lock than the one I originally requested. 5 minutes later, the new lock was installed. If you've ever dealt with other locksmiths, you may have felt pressured to buy something you didn't need. That won't happen with these guys.
