Close to Fort Bragg Gate on Reilly Road Very close to Fort Bragg, Cross Creek Shopping Mall and other shopping area. The Family Lodge Apartments were originally built by Mr. D.P. Bruton. Mr. Bruton. a 3rd generation native to Fayetteville, had only a 6th grade education and could barely read but he saw a need for short-term living arrangements for military families waiting for their household goods to arrive from far-away places. His desire was to offer safe, convenient housing that was affordable. Not only was he a visionary, but he was one of the most honorable and respected pillars of the community. People knew they could trust him. He shared his love for Jesus in a very quiet way--he set an example; he had an unsurpassed work ethic, he was generous, had a heart for people less fortunate than himself and, frankly, "they just don't make 'em like they used to."
