Member Comments: This company was referred to me by a friend/co-worker, and, as I am a new Angie's List member I wanted this to be my very first review because I was extremely pleased and happy with their service. The owner, David, was very professional and knowledgeable and very politely answered any questions that I had. A big plus was that they were extremely neat and ensured that they left my home just as clean when they left as when they started. Overall I was very happy with this company and I would definitely use them again, as well as recommend them highly to friends/family!!

"I recently had my old knob and tube electrical system updated to modern wiring by DMS Electrical. It was great knowing how much it was going to cost me in advance instead of wondering how much more it would be every time they discovered some strange new wiring configuration. The electricians were always professional and friendly and did their best to make everything exactly how I wanted it. Even though they re-did the wiring in almost all of my house (some had already been upgraded), they only cut about 6 small holes in the ceiling--everything else was done by "fishing" through the walls of existing openings. They cleaned up after every day of work and had as much electricity on again in the evenings as I needed. The office staff was great. Overall, I found the experience entirely positive. DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY YOUR ADDRESS-- MUST READ THIS POST FOR YOUR SAFETY There is a guy name "Dave" (unscrupulous character/Con artist) who baits innocent homeowners and prospective workers on Craigslist. He proclaims to be a licensed contractor by the name of "David Powell" claims to be owner of DMS Electric located in Clifton, NJ. He uses different aliases: Dave, Joe, Jim and multiple different phone numbers including but not limited to: 862-217-0016, 973-508-9766 (others from google phone). I investigated his license number with the NJ State Attorney General's office, Division of Consumer affairs website, and it is inactive presumably for unethical business practices and complaints.The Yelp website contains some very unflattering reviews as well. Before you contemplate engaging in any business with this guy or performing subcontracting work please do some research. He is a scam artist who attempted to take one thousand dollar deposit (cash only) and would "be back next week" to start the job. He has a raspy smokers voice and is very menacing if he does not get the job, threatening to both me, my family and home. FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY'S SAFETY DO NOT LET HIM KNOW YOUR ADDRESS AND DO NOT EVER LET HIM INTO YOUR HOME.
