Hiring Daniel from Reiter Lawn & Landscape LLC has truly been one of WORST experiences I have ever had with a contractor. We had created a contract which was for a project I wanted done on my backyard. This contract consisted of terms that we both agreed upon. In the contract we had stated that this project would be fully completed in 3-4 weeks and explicitly stated what things needed to be done. As time went by, his work was far and few between; a couple of guys would come and do extremely little work then leave. For example, they cut down some branches from some trees in my backyard and took out all the wooden blocks from my retaining wall and left it all in my backyard for over a MONTH! Now this is where things get even worse. One day I wake up to someone knocking on my door, its a subcontractor (one of HIS subcontractors) stating that he has yet to be paid for the job he has done on my property. Of course, you could imagine how much shock I was in as I had already given Daniel a $5,000 deposit and expected him to pay all of his guys on time. I took down the subcontractors' information and stay in touch with him for updates. I then proceeded to reach out to Daniel and tell him about the situation. Daniel then proceeds to do a full run around, make every excuse and make a plethora of empty promises saying he will take care of the situation. This goes on for more than TWO WEEKS! Throughout this time, I am in touch with the subcontractor who is sending me messages between him and Daniel. These messages have Daniel saying the owner of the house has yet to pay me. When I read this, I was extremely frustrated had I most definitely had paid him $5,000! It took Daniel more than two weeks to finally pay his subcontractor! At this point I was very concerned about doing business with Daniel as I am already seeing his lack of professionalism and good business edict. But I figured I still needed the work done and Daniel promises the rest of the project would go smoothly. Finally, some workers show up to my house to pour a very small slab of concrete to place 2 AC units on. You cannot imagine when I say this was the absolute worst concrete job I have ever seen! It had clearly been done by someone who had never poured concrete before! That was it! This was the straw that broke the camel's back. Daniel was extremely behind on his promised timeline, he had shady businesses dealing by not paying his subcontractor and the quality of work he provided was nowhere near what we agreed upon! I was done. I told him to give me a $3000 of the $5,000 back has he had not even done 10% of what the $19,000 project entailed. He said he was not willing to do this and has sent me numerous threatening texts and emails. Luckily, I had paid him using my credit card and have filed a dispute to get my deposit back. My biggest mistake was not checking his reviews on numerous websites. Google his company and you can see the nightmare stories people have experienced with him. I urge all people in need of any contracting services to steer FAR AWAY from ever using Daniel. If you, do you use him you can expect empty promises, a very inaccurate timeline, shady business dealings and an overall unprofessional experience.
