My mother in law knew John Elbert for almost 30 years we thought he was a family friend. We hired Mr.Elbert to defend he son which is my fiance. Mr. Every ensured us he would be able to help us. My mother in law and I gave Mr.Elbert almost $2000 to find out 2 months later he was not licensed to practice in the state of Maryland. I'm the 2 months prior to finding that out he claimed he had entered his appearance in the State of Maryland I continuously check the Judiciary website and never seen anything as far as him entering his appearance. When I found out he couldn't practice in Maryland he fed us some lies stating he would work along side the public defender we had to end up going with since Mr.Elbert took all of our money. Talking to the public defender we were advised public defenders aren't allowed to work with any other attorney's. Mr.Elbert insisted I'm continuously trying to bill us and milk us for more money we altimate Lee fired him and requested our money back to this day we still haven't seen a dime and he refuses to do so. Also in the text messages he had sent me and my mother-in-law who is in her upper 60s he caught us both "bitches" and told us we needed to get our asses in there and pay him.... I strongly advise thinking twice before considering this lawyer.
