Jeanna DeMarco, executive chef and owner of Sweetpea Catering, brings a unique perspective to California Cuisine by combining her personal experiences with Mediterranean food with the fresh bounty for which California is known. Using local produce, meats and cheeses, Sweetpea Catering provides both private chef services and catering for the Napa Valley area. Growing up in an Italian-American household, Jeanna?s persistent and early love of cooking encouraged her to travel to discover other cultures? interpretations of food beginning at a very young age. Starting with her own upbringing, Jeanna moved to Italy to study for one year, living with an Italian family who encouraged her craft daily and influenced her to concentrate on fresh made pastas of all kinds. After college she continued to Greece to take cooking classes and then found herself throughout Asia learning a completely different but interesting style of food. The fresh ingredients and The Culinary Institute of America, where she fine tuned her skills, brought her to Napa where she soon after found her place in the catering community. Working for a small catering company that specialized in food and wine pairing, she learned the importance of mixing the two passions of Northern California together; great food and delicious wines. She won second place at the first annual bASH food and wine pairing competition held at Greystone in 2012 and followed it up with a first place win in 2013. She was the star of the show at the 2014 Dark & Delicious Petit Syrah event by pairing the wine with a Wild Boar Tortellini, French Onion Jus & Pumpkin Seed Pesto and won first place in the professional category with her shortrib tortellini at bASH 2014. Her talent extends past upscale dinners but into casual entertaining and also family meal planning. Whatever service is needed she has the experience and passion to provide it. http://www.sweetpeanapavalley.com/
