If you have found yourself on this site, chances are you are looking to move your life in a more hopeful direction. It is inevitable that we all go through loss, pain, and change that may leave us feeling helpless, hopeless, and completely overwhelmed. In our culture, we are trained to distract ourselves from these feelings, through television, food, social media, drugs and alcohol, sex, shopping, overwork…the list goes on. These activities are not necessarily good or bad, but they can easily become addicting. While our striving to avoid negative feelings comes from a place of self-compassion (we don’t want to feel pain), we unfortunately add to the suffering by walling ourselves off from life and the reality of our present experience. When we “protect” ourselves from “negative” feelings, we also–tragically–numb ourselves to the joys of life. Once you have found the desire to look beneath the external distractions, I am here to walk with you down the road to joy, peace, and freedom. The journey begins with identifying your internal distractions, which may include fear, loneliness, resentment, grief, and confusion. Together, we will learn to walk through these feelings, rather than around them. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but we must be willing to experience all of life if we are to reclaim the precious gift of being human. Each of us must walk our own path, yet we do not have to do it alone. There is guidance and support along the way. I am honored to be your fellow traveler.
