6 years ago, he installed a new heat pump and air conditioning system for me. Last summer (2015), my thermostat quit working. I left 2 voicemails within a few days, neither of which were returned. I ended up calling out another service to install it, only to find out that the reason I couldn’t install it myself was because the wiring had been installed incorrectly when the new system was installed. That service call cost me an unnecessary $200. This spring, I called Lester for repairs on the system, as it wasn’t working properly. I received no response to the voicemail that I left. A few weeks later, I sent him a message via his website, and he responded that he was no longer servicing my area, and that I would need to find another provider. The issue was related to a part that was under the 10-year full parts warranty that was clearly indicated on my 6 year old heat pump/AC installation invoice. Since Lester was not returning my calls, I texted him, and I was explicitly told that he would not honor my warranty, which I had in writing, and which had 4 years of remaining life. This will cost me $500+ for the other company to repair because he actively chose to not honor the warranty that he put into place upon installation. I would not recommend doing business with Rhodes Heating & Cooling for any long term timeframe. Lester does not respond to phone calls/voice mails, and he does not honor the warranty that he promises upon installation.
