DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT STAY HERE! I wish that I could review with 0 stars. My grandmother was living here for months during the beginning of her battle with dementia. You would think that they would have licensed CNA's working here, but they DO NOT. My grandmother had aphasia and could not express herself well, but that's no excuse for her to not be dressed properly and to be exposed in public. Also, it disgusts me that the day we were transferring her to a skilled nursing facility after being so unhappy with the care here, we arrived at her new room at East Troy Manor (which is wonderful) and Eldercare Cottages' staff had sent her, an elderly woman with dementia, there without her dentures or any other belongings, in only a nightgown, in JANUARY. Any decent human would have made sure she was dressed for the weather and able to consume food, as she had been transferred in the morning and we weren't able to get out of work/school until early evening, meaning she hadn't been able to eat all day because of how the staff mistreated her. We expressed this to management and nothing happened to the staff that was working that day. Even worse- when I asked who was working that day, the UNLICENSED CNA that was working lied to my face saying she didn't know, but we later found out that it was her and another girl. You hear horror stories about nursing homes, and this is one of those places. I understand the difference between assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, and this place wouldn't pass for either. I feel its necessary to warn people- do not send anyone you care about to live here. Disclaimer: I passed CNA training myself and do know and understand the standard expectations. Anyone with any decency would never have let this happen. (And instead of deleting my review and pretending it didn't happen, they would have taken responsibility)
