Keith Bleyer has been involved in both soccer and broadcasting for nearly four decades. He is the primary televsion play-by-play announcer for the the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer. Keith Bleyer has been involved in both soccer and broadcasting for nearly four decades. He is the primary televsion play-by-play announcer for the the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer. He joined the MLS club during the 2012 season as a radio broadcaster. His coaching experience began in the 90's, after a playing career that included selection to the USA U16 Youth National Team and NCAA Division 1 soccer at Santa Clara University (CA). Bleyer has served as a Director of Coaching for two Oregon competitive youth clubs and is currently a head coach for a Timbers/Thorns ODP (Olympic Development Program) state team and for a Bend FC Timbers youth team in the OYSA Premier league. He holds a US Soccer National 'A' Coaching License. Bleyer worked the 2011 Major League Soccer season as a touchline reporter for nationally televised 'Soccer Night in America' telecasts on the Fox Soccer Channel. He has been involved in MLS broadcasts since the late nineties, beginning with radio play-by-play duties for the Colorado Rapids.
