If you have ever been to the city I love and I am proud to call home, Charleston, South Carolina then you know how lovely it is and why I am thrilled to be in the position of being a licensed tour guide for her. You also probably noticed that there is no shortage of tour companies. So, why do we need another one or better yet what is so great about Tour Charleston Today? Well........ Thank you for asking. RESEARCH, CONTENT and FEELING are the 3 main reasons why my tours are different and why my tours are needed. The research that has gone into our 3 inaugural tours Charleston Unmasked, Charleston Layered With Death and Denmark Vesey, Slavery and The Planter Aristocracy, encompasses over a thousand hours of research, hundreds of books and countless interviews and articles. That research enables Tour Charleston Today to provide an entertaining and eye opening narrative that seemingly writes itself. This content is our city's most compelling and essential but much of it has been overlooked or glossed over for fear of reprisal from the establishment. Charleston Guide is willing to take this risk because at no time in our history has it been more important to shed light on these subjects. The end result is a tour that evokes a feeling and a connection to the material, for both the guide and the guided, to Charleston's wonderful but sometimes questionable past.
