"“Sundries” Defined: ""Items too Numerous to List"" Downtown’s Largest Selection of Souvenirs & Travel Essentials Souvenirs: Omaha, Nebraska, Old Market Sundries was created to fulfill the need for a “hotel” gift shop (without the hotel) in downtown Omaha. None of the downtown hotels had a full service gift shop, so visitors and others needed a place to purchase souvenirs, gifts, and other travel essentials. Old Market Sundries filled this niche. The shop also carries gifts that are handmade in Nebraska and are perfect for visitors or natives to give to out-of-town friends and family. Many requests for Nebraska Cornhusker items to take home to former Nebraskans led to creating a small “Husker” section in the shop which was later expanded to include Iowa State Cyclone and Iowa Hawkeye items. Old Market Sundries is located within Tannenbaum Christmas Shop and can be entered from Tannenbaum’s Howard St. door even if the Sundries 10th St. door is unavailable.
