When I purchased my home outside Peebles, the driveway needed repair and I was wanting install new culverts and have additional driveway space created. I obtained two estimates and decided to use the "local" business (Midwest Asphalt) as opposed to a more positively reviewed and renowned business in the next county. Midwest provided me with a quote that was only about $1000 less than the other company and gave me a verbal guarantee that the quality and completiong would be guaranteed. It took much longer than expected to complete and when "finished", the driveway was patchy and had a lot of loose asphalt making it appear as a gravel driveway rather than paved. The owner assured me that sealing the driveway would fix this issue, which was supposed to be included in the initial work. It took nearly a year to finally get the sealing done, but the sealing was not properly done either. It did not correct the gravel issue or the deterioration of the work already completed; it looked as if no sealing had even been done. In addition, the driveway is falling away and one culvert installed collapsed under the asphalt creating a huge hole in the driveway. After contacting the owner MULTIPLE times and his assurance that repairs would be made, NOTHING has been done. I have now lived in the home for 6 years with no follow-through on any of the promises made!!! I would recommend obtaining an asphalt company that provides timely, quality work and follows through with their word/guarantee (backs up their work). This is not the company you want to use!
