After being tricked by the hardware store into getting cheap copy keys made, one week later one of the copy keys broke within the lock! It aggravated me beyond words! It was 9 pm then and I was worried there would be no one around for help, but clearly, I was worrying for nothing! I spoke to Jones from Belleville Locksmith Store who assured me of prompt assistance. Sure enough, he got there within minutes and removed the pieces still lodged within the lock, careful not to damage anything in the process. He explained how the cheap materials used to make the key couldn’t withstand usage (Usage??? I’d barely used it for a week! ) That’ll teach me never to fall for cheap stuff again! I’d just evicted a tenant and needed the lock changed. When I called them up on 973-512-5421 and asked them to help me install a new lock I’d purchased from the nearby hardware shop, little did I expect them to get there so fast. I think the technician arrived in about ten minutes! Wow, that was super quick! Anyway, once I showed him the lock I needed installed, Eric from Belleville Locksmith Store told me that it wasn’t a great one and the existing one would do a better job at securing my property. I couldn’t believe it! I’d just paid $100 for it, and Eric dismissed it as something completely useless. That’s when he explained how a DIY rekeyable lock wasn’t great for security. If you could do it, anyone could do it – that’s what he said! He had a point! I planned on returning the lock. Eric suggested that I rekey the existing the lock, which I did! I called to set up an appointment for tomorrow to fix door cylinder with Belleville Locksmith Store I was told my call would be returned so I could get an estimate and set up appt. time. My call was returned by Bob within 5 minutes. I sent him 3 pictures to determine the problem.
