Alan Rubin and David Freed the founders of A&D Transport Services Inc., began in the transport business in 1994 with a transport business primarily focused on food delivery encompassing all types of restaurants. The business grew to delivery from florists, video stores, grocery stores and just about anything our customer's desired. Essentially, we were a taxi service for items. We soon realized that our area lacked a quality taxi and transportation service of the traditional variety. We became a safe ride option to prevent DWI, provide transportation to all airports including Albany, Syracuse, Binghamton, JFK, Laguardia or Newark and began to assess our demographic to see where A&D can be of service. A&D Transport began this mission in 1996. We quickly realized that not only standard taxi and cab service was needed along with airport transportation, but the need for non-emergent medical transport was tremendous. In 1998, after fostering relationships with numerous healthcare providers and agencies that administered services to their residents, medical transport would be an area of growth to focus on.The transportation A&D began providing was getting people transported to doctors appointments, rehabilitation centers, various healthcare treatments, day programs, and people with special needs to important programs. Healthcare providers and agencies administering the services quickly realized that A&D was a quality, efficient transportation service that could handle many of their needs. Rubin and Freed began to visit many of the area facilities who could benefit from their transportation services.They let clients know that they could tailor a transportation solution to fit any need. Their motto was and still is "no ride is too long or too short and that A&D will always be available 24/7/365 to assist with any taxi or transport need. In 1998, A&D became a transport provider for the NYS Medicaid Program. This helped to further strengthen their bonds with both providers and customer they were providing transport service for. Over recent years, the non-emergency medical transport division has increased exponentially. The A&D Transport business model went hand-in-hand with New York State's initiative to provide quality and cost effective transportation to residents in need. A&D focuses on its core philosophy of providing quality and timely efficient transportation service and to cater to all clients in need.
