Eden Crest Vacation Rentals.(Just Hanging Out) We were called 20 minutes before arriving and told A/C was turned down too low and was frozen up by previous renters. A technician would come fix the unit for us. No technician ever showed up and cabin was 87 degrees when we arrived. We Called and reported first thing. We were Told to turn unit on and they would call back. No return call was received. We called again and was told unit should be working, and they would get someone out to take another look at unit. We Called after we returned from dinner to the cabin at 79 degrees. Unit frozen. We Called and got after hours answering service. 40 mins later; still no call back. Cabin is hot, humid and now we have shut the a/c back off. The unit is leaking water everywhere. We also discovered a racoon has a family in the hot tub. Night one is not going as planned. Someone from maintenance has now shown up with portable a/c units. He explains no one will be able to come out and repair the unit tonight. I work in the hvac industry. I know any and most all companies provide 24/7 service. Eden Crestcan charge us for rental but not pay for after hours service to keep their guests comfortable. We followed up with additional calls.. Eden Crest has blown us off. We had another issue with water seeping into the lower bedroom while raining. My wife woke up and got out of bed slipped and nearly fell. We reported this issue also. No response. Went to the rental office and was told they knew about the raccoons for 3 weeks and cannot remove them because of the law. We could have been told that from the start. We were also told the HVAC unit is broken and unrepairable. They are waiting on a quote for replacement. This seems odd as We were told it was fixed and a technician was coming out to fix it. We were told management was off until after the holiday. We have left and made it back home. Tuesday we received a call and an expected excuse of how we could not be compensated for our inconvenience. Eden Crest is a very sorry excuse for a vacation rental company. I really feel bad for the property owners getting taken advantage of. Do yourself a favor and never rent anything Eden Crest Vacation Rentals manage.

Our desire above all is to act with integrity in all that we do. However, your characterization of the cabin and property management is very unfair. We are terribly sorry to hear about the problems you encountered during this stay and have shared your feedback with our upper management team. We do apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you and your family. Due to the extreme heat during your stay, there was an issue with the air conditioning which we immediately tried to address by sending our vendor out to correct. The vendor had been to the cabin before your arrival to address the issue. We did a courtesy follow-up call to see if the cabin was cooling and you and your guests were out to dinner. We brought out the portable ac units after you called back and spoke with the answering service to help cool the unit as well. We were unable to recreate any leak, we believe it was caused by the ac defrosting. We cannot predict when something will break but we have a great team that is always fast to act on making things right for the guest. As for the raccoons we are in the Smoky Mountains and these creatures do make themselves at home sometimes. There are strict regulations on how we have to deal with our furry visitors. It is not our intention to be the source of problems and issues while staying with us but just the opposite. You claim that the guest is always right and that no matter what they ask a company should comply with the demands regardless if they are reasonable or not. This is beyond inappropriate for any customer to make such demands. Yes, we are human and can make mistakes so we will always make efforts to apologize and make amends but there seems to be a handful of individuals out there that think that they make unfounded or unreasonable allegations and demand reimbursement. It has become a sport for some individuals. They will make demands for exorbitant refunds and threaten to bad-mouth a company on the internet if they do not comply with the demands. We are an honest small business that must do the right thing for our guests but we cannot comply with unreasonable demands simply to avoid dealing with the truth.
