I have taken my kids there twice already and I have to say that the staff there is outstanding! I love the fact that they interact with the kids to make them feel comfortable and Dr. Shivakumar was kind and caring to my son and daughter. On a scale from 1-10 I give them a 12 :o)

My daughter and I had a terrible experience at pediatric and family dental. She is almost 5 and received her first filling and responded unexpectedly bad. Since that visit and speaking with other parents I found her reaction to not be unusual for her age. However, the response I received from the dentist and staff was unusual. The assistant, especially, spoke very rudely to me during the procedure which was not helpful for anyone. I felt like everyone wanted that visit to be over as quickly as possible. And when It was, I felt very uncomfortable and unsure about how to proceed. I really do feel like my daughter did not receive caring or professional service that day. She unfortunately still has one more cavity so I have already started the process of looking for another pediatric dentist. My suggestion for other parents searching for a first time dentist for their children is to establish good communication with the dentist before any appointments begin. Out of concern for my daughter I may have offended or asked my daughter questions in a way that the dentist and assistant did not approve of, but as a parent that is my responsibility. If there were certain things I could have done to make the process go more smoothly for my daughter I wish I would have been made aware of it.
