It all began when I realized a guitar string is a wire... Also, each time a musician changes their guitar strings (and for some of us, that can be quite often), that metal ends up in the landfill. Having been a jewelry designer for years I've used many types of wire in my stained glass and beaded creations. When the realization hit, I couldn't believe what a rich treasure trove of possibility opened up with the addition of used guitar strings. In November of 2010, I co-founded a non-profit organization, Musicians On A Mission, which supports local musicians and local charities by raising awareness and funds through music events. 100% of the profits raised at each event goes to the chosen charity for the event. Also, a portion of the jewelry proceeds go back to fund MOAM.
