There's an unspoken agreement, right? Bugs live outside, we live inside. Occasionally, we'll see a spider or some ants in the house. Or a fly gets in and buzzes around. Okay. I can deal with that. And any critter that is brave enough to come inside does so at his own risk. Since it will most likely be captured and tortured by the cats.
But you know where I draw the line? When I see a m*****rf******g GIANT A** cockroach INSIDE MY HOUSE. Sipping on a bit of water that was spilled on the kitchen floor. Just hanging out. Like, hey what's up?
OH HELL NO.
You don't come into MY HOUSE. Act like you're just chillin'. We will murder your ass. And this isn't a job for paper towels or a rolled up magazine. This is a 'grab a boot and stomp on it' situation.
We were freaked out, but we got him. Okay, now I can relax and sleep at night knowing he's gone.
Yeah, right. Think again.
2 days later, your GIANT A** friend shows up and hangs out on the shower curtain. WHILE SOMEONE IS IN THE SHOWER???
NO.
No, no, no.
This was the last straw. Time to call in a professional. Someone with stuff to keep them OUT.
I read all of the great reviews for Men In Black Pest Control and gave them a call. Talked to Megan. She was awesome. I told her what was going on. We live in Chicago... But COME ON. Stay outside and find your own flippin' water. Don't hide on the shower curtain, waiting to ambush us. DANG IT.
Megan said we can do a 1 time service call or set up quarterly service.

I am a self proclaimed nut case when it comes to bugs and mice. If I see ANY ant, silver fish, spider or mouse, I totally flip my s$&t. I'm sure someone out there gets that.
I've was using one of the BIG companies for a year now and they just haven't cut it. I had them coming to the house every month. Nope nope nope!
My neighbor started using Men In Black Pest Control about a year ago and she's been ecstatic about their service. She was raving constantly about the girls on the phone and how they made her feel like she was their most important customer ever. She had the same company I do before changing. Then, she would go on and on about how great the technicians who came to her house were.
I had to see for myself.
The very first visit and I understood. When I called, I got a real live person instead of a mindless drone, her name was Megan and she really did treat me like family. The tech who came was so courteous and professional it was almost disgusting, no one is that nice anymore. Must be a Stepford husband.
He did totally put me at ease though, very knowledgeable and patient with my endless questions. He told me everything he was going to do and why, and promised not to kill me, my husband or cats, BONUS!
Took him about an hour and a half to go through the house (I don't think the other company has been in my house in all visits combined in the last year) hitting every single place a bug or mouse could hide, even the outside.

This company is past unprofessional. They put a hole in a brand new aerobed by laying it on the metal bed rail instead of the box spring and when I called and let them know and emailed them the reciept they stated they would drop a check off. Instead they sent one of their techs with an attitude, slamming things around in the room, knocking over a lamp and my cable box. When I asked what he was doing he stated he was looking for a hole because he thought I just wanted a check for 130 dollars and walked out. Now I'm stuck with a lame air mattress that I'll have to claim on my renters policy. When I called the company to let them know what he did, they didn't even apologize... I would report them to BBB but they are not even BBB accredited! Mmmmmm I wonder why?
