Jimmy Dorsey started the orchestra in 1935 and the band has been performing swing music ever since. Now under the direction of Bill Tole. Performances include concerts, dances, cruises, corporate parties and conventions. The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra is one of the few big bands still active. The Orchestra plays the hits of Jimmy Dorsey from the 40's and features vocalist Nancy Knorr with her special tribute to the great vocalist Helen O'connell. The special shows performed at all of the major Performing Arts Centers nclude: "AMERICAS HITS ON PARADE" "FRANK SINATRA, THE EARLY YEARS" "A CHRISTMAS GIFT" all featuring the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and the Pied Pipers. A new show featuring Dennis Rowland with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra called "JAM JIVE JAZZ" is now available for the new season.
