I came to Texas with nothing - no job, no money, anything. Champion Security was the first one to hire me when I put my application in. I'm still with them today, 2 years later. I have observed they have excellent field supervisors. The field supervisors know what being an officer is like, because they are hired within the organization not from without. Even when they are picking out new field sups to promote, they still pick guards that have good qualities. In essence, they spot a quality guard when they see one, promote to field supervisor, and won't promote one of the low-quality guards. The scheduler will also work with you around your schedule and days off if you need them. The downside about this company is the low pay they start you at, the lowest in the business. While the average security company will start a guard out at $9.50 - $10.00 per hour (I've checked around), Champion starts out at $8.00 per hour. You do increase with each successive evaluation, but still below. But, this is also how they are able to obtain accounts as well - they offer cheaper services to the clients. Which actually turns out good in the end because they can offer more jobs to more guards. For example, with the starting low pay, they are willing to give someone like me - someone with ZERO experience in security - a chance at being an officer, while all other security companies want "previously 2 years security experience", etc. I have recommended this company to others.
