We are a husband and wife run operation in the tough mountain area of West Central Idaho. Our altitude is about 4,000 feet. Our winters are usually snowy and cold and our summers are quite often hot and dry. Our forage is mostly dryland and timber ground with a small amount of irrigated pasture. We are a husband and wife run operation in the tough mountain area of West Central Idaho. Our altitude is about 4,000 feet. Our winters are usually snowy and cold and our summers are quite often hot and dry. Our forage is mostly dryland and timber ground with a small amount of irrigated pasture. We raise our own feed but only get one crop of hay in our short growing season. We have been using artificial insemination since 1990 using a natural heat program and the best genetics we can find. We are not large in numbers but we run our operation on quality. We believe in good dispositions and thrifty, productive cattle with balanced EPDs. We have successfully shown our Salers cattle at the National Western Stock Show in Denver and the Idaho Salers Assn annual sale in March. We have also participated in other various shows and sales.While we have not attended national shows with our Angus cattle, we have participated in several of the smaller events in the region. Because of our location we have not been attending these shows recently. We do not have the facilities to fit cattle for shows at our home place here in the mountains. Because of the mountainous location we are now calving from mid April through May. Consequently we only have 2 year old bulls available in the spring with long yearlings available in the fall.
