Development and engineering of three-dimensional (3-D) in vitro cell/tissue models of human, veterinary and insect tissues for biomedical research. Cell Systems 3-D utilizes an organ-like systems approach in the design and development of our in vitro models. We attempt to use cells which are specific to a particular anatomical region. Our goal is to produce a model that is relevant and possesses specific physiological functions. Our models are engineered to the specific requirements of the biomedical investigator. The majority of our models are engineered using bioreactors and the Rotary Cell Culture System (RCCS). However, we have engineered 3-D models within the standard tissue culture flask using synthetic biomatrices. Generally from the initial consult to product delivery requires 4 to 6 months. We provide consultation services, equipment set-up and training to laboratory personnel to maintain the 3-D models.
