Brittany trains for biting but cannot train a horse that displays other aggressive qualities. Our 3 year old filly had been trained by CJ Baker for basic manners (lifting the leg, lunge line, taking a lead, grooming etc) in spring 2014. And our 15 year old neighbor had worked with our filly dozens of sessions over the summer and fall in leading, getting her used to weight on her back, obeying a young girl, desensitization to noise and stimuli with no significant problems. We had dropped Imbrium off for a month of saddle training, As I recall 2 sessions daily. After 4 sessions we were called to come pick her up, but charged for 1/4 of a month of training (1/4 month should have included 7-14 sessions, or been charged a lower rate for only boarding). It was frustrating because I lost a day of work in the spring on the farm, a week later I am still scrambling to catch up. Further, after having the appt set up for months we had to scramble to find a new trainer at the peak of training season. Our Filly had never aggressed like that (oh she disobeys but has never charged) so we could not have clarified prior to training anyway, but be sure to clarify what could get your horse sent back prior to training. I guess if your horse goes into heat and displays behaviors you have not seen, be sure to cover that before hand. Dr John Martin
