Dr. MacKenzie is a graduate of Pacific University in Oregon.

Besides his Doctor of Optometry degree he has a Bachelors degree in Physics, Biology and Psychology. He was President of the Vancouver Optometrists Association for 11 years. At Pacific University he did research with Dr. U. Meyer-Arndt MD, PHD in Holography, lasers and the combining of three optical instruments into one. Later he did research and clinicals on contact lenses and solution compatibility of the eye with Ciba and Coopervision labs.
