Open Door Therapy offers pre-marital services ABOUT ME: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Early Childhood Specialist who provides online counseling services for individuals, couples, and families in New Jersey. I work with both individuals and couples on a spectrum of relationship issues such as pre-marital counseling, betrayal, dating, commitment, blended families, conflict and disconnect, and separation and divorce. How I Help I use Emotion-Focused Therapy with individuals and couples to help clients emotionally regulate with one another. I help partners learn to recognize their partner’s emotional distress and teach them how to respond in ways that steady their partner and their relationship. When couples learn to help each other emotionally regulate, it makes their relationship safe and secure so that they can express their most vulnerable feelings with one another and share their hopes, dreams, and desires. Helping couples tune into each other’s feelings helps them to ‘read’ each other’s emotional state to respond in ways that foster trust, safety, and security. The result is a closer, deeper, and more fulfilling connection.
