I knew that I had a serious issue with my dishwasher and I explained the circumstances that created this issue when I called and again when I spoke with the repair tech. The tech arrived with just a screwdriver in his hand and I probably should have been suspicious at that point and sent him on his way but I did not. He explained that the motherboard and possibly the pump was in need of replacement and explained that he would order both but only install what was needed. I called 3 times to get a quote back and finally agreed to the repair quote, the return service appointment was made but the technician did not show up nor did I receive a phone call back from Bi-State. I was told their tech could not reach me which I could not understand how that happened when their office had no issue with contacting me (again this should have been another signal this would not end well). Technician arrived 2 days later and while replacing the motherboard mumbled that the unit did not look burnt as he thought. Replaced both parts and struggled to reassemble the wiring and then noticed another section of the dishwasher has electrical burning. Again no electrical or meter or any other tool beside a screwdriver. He explained that another part was needed to complete the repair. At this point I had paid $110 for the initial visit, $430 for the replacement service and it would be about $200 for this next part. all for a $730 dishwasher. I wrote the check and told him to leave before I reacted honestly to this entire experience. I don't understand how this place is in business with such toxic service and so little knowledge of appliances. As a warning to anyone searching for appliance repair, please look past Bi-State Appliance service you will do better elsewhere!

Scott called back promptly, his prices were competitive, we ultimately went with bistate because we felt comfortable with him as a person, and didn't feel like he tried to "up sell" the services needed, and even told us he was able to get the needed part for cheaper than expected and so our final bill was cheaper than originally quoted. He is an excellent appliance tech, and honest business man. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for repairs on appliances. Thank you Scott for your service, and we will definitely call again if we ever need anything else fixed!
