At Stamford Green Day Nursery we believe that play is a child's work. It is how the child learns through experience and toning their skills. Stamford Green Day Nursery was established in 1964 in the same location we are located in today, but with a few modifications. One of our most recent modifications include the addition of a handicap-accessible ramp and new entrance way into our centre. We offer a variety of programs that are created to enhance your child's future success in learning by incorporating a phonics program into our preschool program. Our phonics program uses "Jolly Phonics" to develop a strong phonemic awareness in children will using fun activities to make children excited to learn. Upstairs in our centre we run the Early Learners I & II program from September to June, that acts as an alternative to traditional Kindergarten programs, with a focus in reading, phonics and math, taught and overlooked by an elementary school teacher registered with the Ontario College of Teachers.
