SBR was founded in 2009. The company's work force have gained their experience from working on high performance cars starting in 1996, working for London's largest sports car dealer at that time. Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati were the main manufactures concentrated there, with Motorsport involvement in the form of TVR Tuscan championship, Lotus and the Ferrari Challenge series.
