By recording the digital signal from the tv station's transmitter directly to a hard drive, we keep it 100% digital 100% of the time. The video never sees tape, unless it is the final product. Doing this allows us to record all programming in its original digital form without any degradation to quality in the final product. This process also allows us to record any local programming offered in HD as well.
