JFD was founded in 1983 by Joe Orlowski, Diane Orlowski, and Frank Simmons. We started with a 1500 sq. ft. facility and several small coil and bending machines. In 1986, we built a 15,000 sq. ft. facility in Hamden, CT. That same year we expanded our capabilities and became A.S.M.E. Section VIII, Division I certified with our "U", "UM", and "R" stamps. In 1989, JFD's facility was partially destroyed by a tornado. Despite the disaster, JFD demonstrated its commitment to reliability and excellence by remaining open during the rebuilding process. In 2010, Frank retired and T.J. Orlowski became the Vice President. For 29 years we have sucessfully provided quality products in a timely fashion to our customers. This accomplishment is a credit to our skilled, hard-working team.
